PhotoText Finder searches permitted photos by printed text, partial numbers, and recognized objects. Photo content and the search index stay on your device and are not sent to a server operated by us.
The app analyzes photos on your device. The time depends on library size, device performance, temperature, and battery state. Recent photos become searchable first. You can pause, and the scan continues later. After the first complete scan, the app focuses on new or changed photos.
Open device settings and check the photo access granted to PhotoText Finder. With selected access, only the chosen photos can be processed. Full access is needed to search the entire library.
The app ignores common separators such as spaces, hyphens, and commas. For example, a photo containing “02-1234-5678” can match “1234,” and “4,500” can match “4500.” Recognition can vary with blur, angle, font, and image size.
Object labels depend on image size, lighting, angle, subject prominence, and background. The feature recognizes common objects and scenes but cannot classify every photo correctly. Try a common object name such as “tree” or search visible text instead.
No. It removes only the local search information created by PhotoText Finder and leaves original photos unchanged. You can start a new scan afterward.
On iOS, the app shows the original and provides the system share sheet. On Android, the result opens with the available gallery app, where that app's actions can be used.
Some Android recognition components are delivered through Google Play services. Connect to the internet, update Google Play services, reopen PhotoText Finder, and try again. After the required component is available, photo recognition runs on the device.
